Community Benefit
Settle Hydro Limited is a Registered Society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014. Any surplus that is made by the Society is primarily used to fund initiatives within the community and not shared amongst the Members as a Dividend as is the case with the more familiar type of co-operative. This does not preclude the Members from receiving some Interest on their investment - but this is not guaranteed and should not be the motivation for investing in the Society.
